Want to pitch yourself to the highest level? You Only Need One

You know the stress, right? Sweating, red spots, clammy hands. And then I’m still quiet about that very wet river that flows down your arms against a speed you can’t imaging. It comes all togheter and sometimes the stress will take the leading role. And that's something you don't want, do you?

BOOM. There he is. The most important character of your story. The person of the year, because he has your future in his hands, literally. Or he’s super excited, or you can just fall down the stairs on your face when he is not totally into your idea. It’s rather up to you, or up to him.

Mission (im)possible

I do want to give a million for just that one time I can pitch my idea without any stress, word stumbles or not knowing what the hell I’m supposed to do with my hands. Because yes. I’m always the stressy person during a presentation. What about you?

You’re not telling me, that you never have stress for any presentation. It’s just not possible. Not in my opinion. So you might think: “Is this a mission impossible?” I will tell you, it’s not. Thanks to Team Lewis, Lynn Van de Velde and Jana Strouven, I’ve got a few more tips to rock that pitch. These ladies were an inspiration for me and many more. Because they presented like Lewis was their own life. And that is what you need.

6 tips? 6 excellent stars? Who knows...

If we apply these six tips, will we be one in a million? No. It’s not that easy. Also add your personal touch to the story. But first, try to make these six work.

At first, make sure you own the story. Knowing it, isn’t enough. You really need to create that special depth that no one else can put in your story. Don’t try to tell it perfectly but give it your own twist. If you know all the details and you combine that with a good storytelling , the press will love you. Like Kate loves Jack, like Romeo loves Julia 😉

Want to impress your journalist? Give him a call. When you make a personal contact, they will memorize you. You can tell your story in a right way, and you can correct them, if they understand you wrong. Nothing is more simple than taking your phone and say the words that come into your head. Just the way like that. Another benefit: they feel themselves special. They wonder: “Why me?”, but actually they are just happy that you chose them to spread your news. Think about the most important points you need to tell. What is exclusive about this item? What if the journalist wants an interview? Is that possible? And repeat all your principal questions in every piece, then you have more certainty that they will publish your main message. And be aware, practice as much as possible. Because the more you practice your story and conviction, the greater the chance of perfection.

And last but sure not least, nothing is a failure. You need to keep going and try multiple ways. Nothing goes as you want from the first time, but if you gain the experience, the results will follow after a while (just like a 🐶 ).

Less stress, because one is enough

So, I told you many different tips to pitch yourself to the highest and most perfect level. But actually, you only need one. Wow, wait, what? Yes. You hear me loud and clear. If you can create that one special bond with the journalist you want and it’s unbreakable? Then you’re settled. For each medium you need one journalist and everything else, goes with the flow. When you treat him well enough and you make him feel special enough, a journalist will write good content for you and make your news booming in the world.

Are you ready to fly high in the sky and make a huge success of your newsitem? I’m still waiting for your article…
